This course offers an in-depth exploration of mitochondria, the “powerhouses of the cell,” with a special focus on their structure, function, dynamics, and role in health and disease. Learners will gain insights into mitochondrial biogenesis, energy metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, and the molecular mechanisms that regulate cellular respiration. The course also examines mitochondrial genetics, signaling pathways, and their involvement in aging, apoptosis, and metabolic disorders.
Designed for students of life sciences, biotechnology, and medicine, the course integrates interactive modules, case studies, and research updates to build both conceptual clarity and practical understanding. By the end of the program, learners will be equipped with the knowledge to analyze mitochondrial function in physiological as well as pathological contexts, making connections between cellular bioenergetics and human health.
